Molas

Grade 3 Artists
Mola- A type of appliqué design traditionally made by the Cuna Indians, off the coast of Panama, in which several layers of cloth are sewn together and the top layers are cut and turned to show the colors underneath.
Grade 3 artists used color papers to create their abstract molas.

Abstract Art - not realistic, but often based on an actual subject.
Abstract artists select and then exaggerate or simplify the forms suggested by the world around them.
