Fused Glass Tile Project

Our fused glass tile project is under way.   Grade 4 students and fifth grade Art Enrichment students worked with Artist Jessica Gorlin-Liddell to create a fused glass tile.

Artist Mrs. Jessica Gorlin-Liddell speaks to a fourth grade class.

Students used color pencil
to plan their glass designs.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The glass pieces are glued into place and packed for transport to the studio to be fired in the kiln.

After firing, the tiles will be mounted and installed into the sidelights at Stony Brook's Main Entrance.

Caricature of Me!

It's Me!

Thank you, Jessica & Regan!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Stony Brook Students in Grades 1 through 5 made cards to accompany the Thanksgiving baskets for Mill Hill Child Development Center, Hopewell Gardens Seniors and four military families.  Thank you, Stony Brook Families!

Each year, Google holds a competition for students grades K-12 to create their own “Doodle 4 Google”. Winning doodles go onto the Doodle 4 Google Website, where the public can vote for the winner. One talented student’s winning artwork will appear on the Google homepage. The winner will also receives a 30,000 college scholarship and a $ 50,000 Google for Education technology grant for their school.
This year’s Doodle 4 Google contest theme, “What Makes Me.. Me”, puts a modern twist on the self -portrait, challenging students to get creative and submit a doodle that shows the world their personality.  Doodles can be submitted between November 16 and December 7, 2015. For submission information and key dates, visit                                                                                          www.google.com/doodle4google.
