"Dove of Peace" Bottle Cap Mural

• Stony Brook students in grades 1 through 4 worked with Artist in Residence Mr. Mark Stankiewicz and Art Teacher Mrs. Kathleen Belton this week to create a mural from bottle caps. Students have been collecting plastic bottle caps and lids for some time and it was exciting to witness the creation of fabulous artwork from recycled materials.  
• The design for the piece is based on Pablo Picasso's Dove of Peace and will be permanently displayed at Stony Brook.
• Thank you to the Hopewell Valley Education Foundation for funding this project.

Apps to create art as well as manipulate traditional artworks.
Apps like these also remind us that there are other forms of art out there like animation, green screen, and iMotion videos.
